Horrible reception after body work, 1994 Mustang GT
Hey guys first time i've posted in this section, but I have a '94GT and I recently had the passenger side fender (side with the antenna) fixed from a small wreck. Ever since then I am getting barely ANY reception, doesn't matter what station. My negative battery cable, where the tightening bolt is broken so it's just kinda hangin on. I'm going to fix the battery cable this weekend So what would you all recomend me do to get my reception back?
Pull you radio from the dash and make sure your antenna is connected there first. They might have cut or damaged the antenna lead, if that is the case, I would have THEM fix it, not me. They broke it, they fix it.

check your ground(s) on your audio. they probably just hacked the ground out of the way to getto another part and never fixed it. Or like White X3 LE said check to make sure your antenna isn't loose or disconected, or that they didn't cut one of your wires.

it's probably the antenna lead. but, if i were you, i would do it myself. it's a pretty simple job and i just don't like other people messing with my car lol
I found the problem. I have an aftermarket antenna on my car, and when I took it in to get my fender fixed the guy took my antenna off. Well the antenna has a spring in it, and I guess it just fell out when he took it off, and he didn't notice it. So all I am getting a spring today and that should do the trick. Thanks for the help anyways guys!!!!

Make sure you come back and tell us if indeed that was the issue. Thanks!

that was it! the antenna has two pieces, the main part and then the little piece that screws into the fender, well the spring goes in there, so I just got a compression spring and BAM I can finally listen to the radio!
But again mine is an aftermarket antenna.
nice to hear that you got it up and working. Is it one of those shorty antennas?
