Subs in the top storage for a 2002 Mustang GT

I have a 02' GT convertible and have 2 12" subs that I want to place in the storage area for the top, to keep my trunk space. Will a regular sized box fit or do I need a box with special dimensions? If I need a special box, what dimensions should I make it? Has anyone done this or have any ideas that would work?

Hiya, welcome to the site.
To put subs in where the top goes into, you'll need a lot of power or you won't hear a thing with the top down, it'll muffle all the sound. I don't want to steer you wrong, I'd suggest checking with a local sound shop who does custom installs, there's specific things to do in this situation concerning the convertible top to get the best sound.
