Well I am about to buy 2 1000 watt jbl subs from car toys with a box. My only question is now what kind of amp should I get. I don't really know anything about this kind of thing. So what would be a good size amp to buy? Also can you hook up a sub control switch to any amp so you don't have to control the bass through the deck? Any information is much appreciated, again I know just about nothing about this kind of thing.

Do the speakers handle 1000w peak or 1000w RMS? What kind of $ are you looking to spend on amp\amps? Some aftermarket stereos have subwoffer level controls built in. Some amps have external subwoofer level adjustment dials you can locate wherever you like. Yes there are aftermarket subwoffer level adjusters that will work with any amp.
along with what BigKevo, check your Ohms that the speakers are rated for and it depends on your wiring, RMS, and how many channels you wantto run, look at what kind of ohms your sub is putting outin different wiring configurations, are then SVC or DVC, you really don't want to fry a sub, you'll want to cry. or worse yet buy a amp that you won't be able to properly power your subs with.... learn before yu buy unlike i did.

These are the subs. I'd like to spend as little as possible on an amp but I do want good sound quality

Those are some good woofers, just know for quality you're going to pay. The cheaper amps tend to burn up, overheat, or just not put out a good solid sound. You'll have to find that balance, what's more important? Sound quality or price? Post back with that and we can figure out which one would be best. But it'd be in the 400-500 watt range and it can be, depending on the name, around $350-$400 for a good amp. And that's the cheaper one but still good.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.

so a 500 watt amp would be good? Is there anything else I need to look at besides the watts an amp will put out?

A 500 will be more than enough to shake your colon. But there's a lot to an amp other than the watts.
Make sure it has some heatsinks, they help with overheating. There's also high and low band pass filters, but you can get only low band pass on single channel amps. Some will have a variable bass boost feature, if that's what you like.
I'd suggest, for ease of use, check out the MTX Thunder amp, they have 4. There's the 70W x 2 at 4 Ohms, the 70W x 4 at 4 Ohms, the 300W x 1 at 4 Ohms, and the 600W x 1 at 4 Ohms. All of them have a feature called Smart Engage. It automatically powers up the amp when you turn on the stereo. This is also able to be used with a factory stereo without the need for an extra turn-on wire. The 300 and 600 are mono amps and have the bass boost.
There's actually more MTX Thunder amps, check them all out and see which one you like.
Is this one any good? I can get them for a good deal

I would stay away from any brand that is strange\unknown. Often these amps claim high #s but they are false. Kicker, JL, Alpine and MTX and other top brands all make good amps. If you are looking for good quality & fair prices try CRUNCH. Crunch is made by Maxxsonics, they make MBQuart, HiFonics & more. Check this out, I have powered 2 JLs for few years now with this Crunch, FRYS.com*|*Crunch. One will sound nice but if you want to really push those speakers get two. Many of my friends run these because of the price, no failures yet.
So just buy 2 of those and bridge them together and it should be good to go?

Looks like they are single 4ohm voice coil woofers so yes you would run the amp on a single channel "bridged"mode. You will run the left rca to the amp for your left sub and the right rca to the amp for you right sub so that you still have stereo sound from subs. If you have any more ?s keep posting & feel free to pm. With all that power & those big subs I would look into getting some Dynomat so your car doesn't rattle apart! It stops vibration and improves overall sound quality.
Rockford 10001.1bd. It's fan cooled and rock solid, and very efficient so you don't need as much current from your alternator. You'll pull an easy 1000watts RMS at 1 or 2 ohms. Mine is rated at over 1400 watts at 1 ohm and over 1000 at 2 ohms. Depending on whether your speakers are 4 or 8 ohm, and DVC or SVC, you should be able to wire them up in either a 2 or 1 ohm configuration. I'm having mine put in along with 2 Kicker L5 12" that I have as soon as my car gets here. Look for one on Ebay, they arent too hard to find and aren't the current model year anymore so they are relatively cheaper. It also has the bass boost remote that youre interested in, adjustable for volume and frequency.
