Ok, I've checked everywhere, and never get a consistant answer. I've heard that my front doors take 6x8s, 5x7s and 6.5" speakers. Which does it actually take? Will a 6.5" fit? I've installed stereos before and don't mind doing little modifications, and rewiring (which I know I'll have to do). I just want to make sure that the speaker will fit before I buy.
joe...the speaker sizes are as follows..assuming you have a coupe....the front upper speaker by the pillar is a 2.5" speaker and in the lower door portion is a 6x8 on the rear deck is the same...i just replaced my fronts with a kicker 6x8 component set...custom mounting the tweets in the original speaker pods and the 6x8's screwed right in...(it helps to order ALL speaker purchases from crutchfield...they ship u the factory wiring adapter so you dont have to cut any wires!as well as detailed instruction sheets on how to remove all the speakers and the radio) they can be found at www.crutchfield.com and a good sight to find out mnore about the mach 460 and its speakers/radio/amps is at www.flemworld.com (yes...thatis right...just click on the mach 460 side bar) i hope i was of some help later

for the rear did you leave the deck (big plastic peice) in or did you remove that? I was planning on removing mine and doing a rewire and a somewhat custom install.
I had to dynamate everything cause i have 2 12 jl w3's. But everything fit back like normal but i rewired everything because i am running 4 amps to everything. ask me about anything sound wise for a 94-98 stang i can answer about everything. my advice would be to not go with anything you buy at wal-mart.
I also forgot to say that i wouldnt suggest ordering anything form crutchfield but that is me. I orderd a few things and they werent good good shape at all.
Yeah, I ordered 5.25" MB Quart Speakers off E-bay, and adaptor plates to fit them in. I'm also ordering 6x9 MB Quart Speakers, and I'm going to get rid of the sound board. I might also buy an amp, but I'm not sure of that yet. Right now for subs it looks like 2 10" HX2s with a 1000w RF Amp, but I'm not sure about that either.
my advice on amps is to get planet audio amps. they rock they have a 5 year warrinty and i have never seen one smoke. all 4 of my amps are PA amps. my speakers are jl audio and they rock hard core. but whatever you like works but i would look into the PA amps if i were you.
