I need to know what boxes will fit in a convertible 2000

from what I got from crutchfield the measurements are

(Area in trunk for mounting a subwoofer box: Height = 7" towards front, 12" at rear, Width (front to rear) = 26" maximum, Length (side to side) = 34" maximum between wheel wells (trunk opening is only 28")

crutchfield is saying only an 8" box will fit

there has got to be a way to get bigger subs than an 8"

I'm not sure if the convertible's trunk is different from the coupe, but I drive a 2002 coupe and I have 2 10" subs. However, I had to get a custom box, which will certainly add to the price. I wish I could help you more. You'd probably be best off searching locally, as when they can see it they seem to know best.

There are boxes on ebay that will allow you to fit 2 12" subs in the trunk.

I'm concerned that I would need to remove the mach amps tho?

I mean if I have to I can simply get a 4 channel amp for my speakers but I'm wondering if there is something that I can put in there without removing the mach amps

Don't worry about the volume of the trunk as much as the size of the trunk opening. in a convertible theres plenty of cubic feet i believe its somewhere around 5, slightly less than the coupe the trunk opening should be the same but you need to get a box that will fit through it or design your own.
