Default Help Choosing Speakers for a 2000 Mustang Convertible

Currenty i have a 10" sub in the trunk, an aftermarket deck, and the stock door speakers and stock rear panel speakers. One of the rear panel speakers blew out the other day and now i cant listen to music without getting brble of bad noise when a song hits a strong bass, does anyone have any speakers they would recomment that would swap out with the ones i have, or does anyone know of a good set up for a good sound system in the car? Im gonna go to a audio shop later but i want to have an idea for what i want before i go there.

I had beymas in my old car and i loved them so much i got them in my 2002 gt.. they only come in 6.5's but with some custom work they fit no problem.. they are crazy loud!!!! just make sure you have a good quality amp... Another great choice is MB quarts... They tend to be cheaper than the beymas but also very loud and crisp sound..

i just got some cheap phase linears (by: audiovox) at autozone for 29.99. i had them hooked to the phase linear amp and they were great, until i turned the gaine on the amp up a little too much and bottomed one. i just turned the bass down and they worked fine. Until i get some bass blockers.

If you have a 10" sub in the trunk then your door & deck speakers should not be running full range. Are you door & deck speakers hooked directly to your aftermarket stereo and does it have a HPF? If your speaker are running full range you take the risk of damaging them from excess bass. Having a stereo or amp with a HPF allows your smaller door&deck speakers to reproduce mids&highs without interference from bass. It is hard to hear your small speakers suffering damaged from bass when a subwoofer is hitting. That said I agree with quickpony1982 Alpine's co-axials & components sound excellent. It is a matter of personal preference, go to a shop and listen to a few brands, choose what sounds best to you. Bet you choose Alpine.
