Default Sub and Amp to a computer. not really mustang related but it is audio

Ok so i have done some searching the web and i have found a few people who have hooked up a puny amp and a couple small subs to there computer.

basically i want to know How i can Hook my Rockford Fosgate 550S up to the computer with a high excursion 300Wrms 700Wmax 10" sub.

i have a couple ideas but im wondering if it will just trip the breaker.

you can talk technical, i've built computers and installed a few systems in cars.

first idea, i have only the standard headphone jack for music out.

i want to use one of those that converts to the RCA connectors (Car talk... AKA Low level inputs.

the sticky part is sufficiantly and safely powering the amp.

i figure for the remote on/off wire i can use one of the spare fan plugs on the motherboard (12V)

for the power i was wondering if they made such a power inverter that could be modifeied to power a 550 W RMS amp. and do i just ground it via the inverter ground or do it the old fassion way through the screw on the wall outlet?

and could i or do i have to use a cap or a battery??

i think this would be sick to setup in my house and do it properly.

all you well versed AC/DC electrician, computer geeks(no offense i am too) and car audio GURU's let me know how i can do this.

i hope someone really has a good answer w/o spending or heavily modifying too much. all the other threads on other sites i found about this mushed out with not too intelligent answers or ideas.

Default hmmm

are you trying to do this in the house

if you are you can get a power inverter to run from ac to dc to hook up a car stereo and run your stuff from it if you get a big enough one you should be able to power your amp i was looking into this too and talked to a few guys that run audio shops to find out how they did it

There could be a way to wire up the amp to the 12V rail on your computer's power supply. You would need to have a massive power supply with a second, unused 12V rail to do this though.
