answer from Just Answer.com from a Ford Tech:
...Odds are there is nothing you can do to fix this meaning the audio unit must be removed and replaced. The old one will be sent off and sold after repair as a refusbished unit. To reset a Ford radio, you simplly remove the radio and disconnect it and let it sit overnight to dishcarge. There is not a button push sequent to do this.
This was previouly asked from someone else. I can ask again and get a more detailed answer to our year vehicle. Maybe a different tech may answer.
I'll relay back to my dealer. Maybe I'll try other Ford service dealers in the area too. I called the people who make the radio via recommendation from ford, Visteon and they apparently do not have info or do the radios?

What happened? They have notes to tell people when they call to basically call their service people or call the 1800-customer care at Ford. So now what? Ford said two companies supply the radio, I'm unsure how to spell the other one - Alletrion? Ford does not know the answer or what to do. So I'm back to square one and evidently it may be best to have Ford replace the system. Not an answer yet but a suggestion. Any thoughts?
