Default Shaker 500 Help, 2007 Mustang

I've got an '07 convertible with a a Shaker 500. Everything was working fine until I replaced the battery now it seems the menu is different and it does not see my Aux Input.
- No Speed Vol. option at all. Was there before
- I have an option that displays the call numbers of the radio stations I'm listening to (this could have been there before just never noticed it)
- The lights on the buttons don't work anymore
- And when I hit the Aux button it says No Aux Audio. That was working before with my IPOD

Anybody have any ideas??? I read in another thread that there is some kind of a Software update for the radio??

I did check the fuses under the hood all ok... Didn't look at any fuses inside the front passenger panel yet..

thanx all

You should probably check the fuses in the SJB (passengers side kick panel). If that is OK Disconnect battery and let it sit a few minutes then reconnect. I am traveling right now and I don't have my manual with me. If this does not fix let me know and I will look it up when I return.
Good Luck!

All the fuses looked fine - I stopped by an audio place and a couple of techs said that they had to reprogram a shaker in another car to get things working the way they wanted.... Has anybody heard of had to do that???

thanx

Any Suggestions?

Thank you lord! There is a God in heaven. This is exactly what I'm going through. My car (07 GT convertible) is brand new about a month old - 400 miles on it now. I didn't know how to drive manual when it was first bought - so for the first few weeks, practicing, I really didn't have the radio on so I could learn the engine sounds. Now the past few weeks, I've been going nuts - I've noticed little basic things aren't there! I'm ready to rip this system out and throw it out. But after reading EXACTLY what you are going through and that it may have to be reset -well -that sounds pretty simple- I think. Wellllll -what do we do? I've have e-mails and calls to Ford, they have no clue, took them forever to get me the manufacture -Alletrion/Visteon which is closed right now, 4:30 Eastern. My service dealer had no clue; called my salesman – nothing, but he’s still looking; Ford was no help. But you guys! This is the exact problem. See I believe as soon as I purchased the car this stuff didn't work. No lights on buttons, no aux in, no speed vol. etc. etc. So I didn't miss it - I just noticed it missing altogether. I called all these places thinking it was me and my car. Maybe I didn't have these items. I'm on my 3rd audio cable!!!!!!! So if this needs to be rebooted or something, let me know. Is it something I have to do or should I schedule an appointment? I really didn't want to take it in, but if it is coming down to this. Oh the power button (aux power?) in the center console works. Aux in - nothing.

hey bro - I called then stopped at the dealer... The cat I needed to see was gone for the day... I spoke with another guy and he didn't have a clue either.... I'm leaving for a week for work, but will follow up with the dealer when I get back.... Yeah it's pretty frustrating - I really miss my IPOD connection!!!

BUT, we'll see what happens... I haven't found anything online with this... Which is a little odd......

I'm seeing stuff online if you "google" reboot shaker 500 or reprogram, there is discussion of it on a few websites, one of which you have to register and pay $3.00 - $8.00. Maybe I'll do that. I also have a call in to the dealer. Maybe I'll call them back and tell them what I found and believe and see if some one is skilled there to do it otherwise, I'll do it!

Any Suggestions?

answer from Just Answer.com from a Ford Tech:

...Odds are there is nothing you can do to fix this meaning the audio unit must be removed and replaced. The old one will be sent off and sold after repair as a refusbished unit. To reset a Ford radio, you simplly remove the radio and disconnect it and let it sit overnight to dishcarge. There is not a button push sequent to do this.

This was previouly asked from someone else. I can ask again and get a more detailed answer to our year vehicle. Maybe a different tech may answer.

I'll relay back to my dealer. Maybe I'll try other Ford service dealers in the area too. I called the people who make the radio via recommendation from ford, Visteon and they apparently do not have info or do the radios? What happened? They have notes to tell people when they call to basically call their service people or call the 1800-customer care at Ford. So now what? Ford said two companies supply the radio, I'm unsure how to spell the other one - Alletrion? Ford does not know the answer or what to do. So I'm back to square one and evidently it may be best to have Ford replace the system. Not an answer yet but a suggestion. Any thoughts?

Hello again:

I see your post from a few months back 4-12-08 about the guy who had the vandalized car and smashed radio. You replied a few replies down the same question posed here - in which no one answered. I like the answer the one guy suggested - check the pins -see diagram he linked to.

However it appears the ultimate answer was to ask dealer to 'update' or 'program' the radio system, what ever that means. Apparently this fixed it. So he lucked out. I'm going to call my salesperson and see if this is something his staff has the talents to do.

Aren't your cars still under warranty? I'd go straight to the dealer, don't say a word about the battery, Mmmmm There must be a manufacturing defect. They should replace them... no questions asked!

cha-ching... another 2 cents worth!

I fall under that category. I think Skygremlin wanted a DYI. So do I. I feel this is such a simple problem why can't I just fix it. I hope they can salvage the radio if they pull it out and some one else can use it - either me or one of the service dudes.
