Default Running new wire through 2008 Mustang door

I don't have a shaker system and I'm installing components in the front doors and amp them. Anybody find an easy way to run speaker wire through the door? The rubber holding the wires in between the door and car really sucks. The side going into the car is one big plastic plug under neath the rubber. So then I can't run wire through it! Why do they make this so difficult? Only thing I think I have to do is drill a hole but I'd really like to use the harness already going through.

ya i got a way easier way...just hook the speakers up to the factory wires...remember what colors they wires are, and witch one you made positive and negative...then just splice into them behind the cd/player.

Yeah I thought about it til I remembered I have component speakers. Tweeter and midrange have separate wires running to the crossover.

I was just in my door panels today installing my Infinity 682.7 CFs and I must say that it looks pretty dang packed if you are trying to run additional wires through the door grommet with the other wires. In the past, I used to drill another hole and run new wires, but today, I just soldered the crossovers to the existing factory wire, and stashed them inside the door.

Yeah I wish I installed just 5x7's or 6x8's. Would of been much easier. These components better sound good. Still pissed about that plastic connector inside the door grommet on the body side. No way around it!

I just did this very same thing today. It is a PITA but patience will win. On the driver side I took the rubber boot loose at the door and ran a small stiff wire (called a fish) about 15" long up through the boot and into the car. Aim up a little. It came out inside above the kick panel. On the pass. side I did the same thing but aim down a little. once you have the wire in position, take your speaker wire and poke a small hole in between the two strands. run your fish wire in the hole about 1/2" and bend it over. this will hold the speaker wire to the fish. wrap this with electrical tape so the bent fish wire doesn't snag on the factory harness and pull from the other end until the speaker wire come through on the inside of the car.
For the door, unwind as much speaker wire as you need ( I used 2') and cut it off the spool. remove the upper door speaker (4 screws). take the free end of your speaker wire and feed it into the door where the boot was connected. reach in the speaker opening and grab the new speaker wire. pull it up and out the opening. there's a little notch in the opening where the top speaker factory wire goes through and there's enough room for your new wire too.
Last thing to do is put both ends of each rubber boot back in palce.

I did this in my Mustang. I used the factory wires and placed the crossovers in the doors. I have them doublesided taped in place. I also used a lot of sound deadener. I drilled holes and added tweeters. You can buy connectors that hook to the factory wires so you don't eve have to cut them.

I have pictures in this gallery : Ric Walsh's Personal Web Page

Nice install! I don't have that kind of time. As far as the speakers wired to factory I don't get it. Maybe it's different with a Shaker system which I don't have. I had one 5x7 in there. No way I could use the stock wiring for components.
