Hello. I just joined AFM 'cause I was reading the forums earlier today. Lots of great info, but I need to pose a question. Hopefully I won't confuse anyone. Just purchased a 95 GT with a H.O. 5.0L. It is my sixth Mustang. Got it at the auction for a GREAT price, but the sound system (HU and c.d. deck) were missing, wires have been hacked up a bit. I need to understand what's what. Basically, what are the different plug-ins for, that come out of the wiring harness? The one that got chopped comes from the left (drivers side) and is several wires in a grey harness. I've split it open to view the wires but not real sure what they're for. Bound with the same harness are other loose wires, and I believe those are all my power/neg/lighting wires for the radio, and I've already obtained a new harness to wire back in for stock radio operation. There are six wires plus a uncoated ground wire that grounds that grounds the plug-in itself. Then, from the left side comes two more plug-ins with the same gray insulation over them. One is a 8-pin, the other is a 6-pin. I've already figured out that the 8-pin should be my speaker wires. Neither one of these plug-ins are chopped, just need to know what they are. Is the 6-pin the power harness for the c.d. deck? Then there are the other few wires that break out of that whole left side harness. What do they go to? There are two very large negative straps that up in from the main harness, so I'll probably be able to figure out where they go when I go back a to stock system. Oh! And does anyone have any idea where to get the stock radio and c.d. deck? I'll be visiting the junk yards I'm sure. I've put in a call to Instrument Sales and Service already, here in the Kent, WA. They are an authorized dealer for Visteon, who actually built the Mach 460 system for Ford. Vist them at

I have pictures of all this wiring. Would just like an explanation of what's what. Would love to see a pic of the same system plugged in.
Any information you have will be greatly appreciated. Also, I am a professional mechanic if any one has any questions for me.
Thanks!
