Removal and Re-Use of Shaker 500 Door Subwoofers and Amplifiers I'm wondering if anyone has removed their shaker 500 door subs and the amps that power them and re-used them in another vehicle. After installing an Alpine MRP-M500 amp and SWR-1242D Type-R Sub (running 500w @ 2ohms) I have more bass than i'll ever need and could stand to lighten up my doors a bit.
I understand that there are 2 amps that power the shaker 500 door subs and they're located in the passenger side kick panel. I'd like to remove both amps and both subs and install 1 amp along with 1 sub in my truck to get some bass going on in there. I also know that i'll need to step down my remote voltage from 12v (from my trucks head unit) to 5v which is what the stock amps use in order to prevent a popping sound every time it turns on. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.
If possible i'm looking for pics of the amps as well as a diagram or any information I can get on what wires may be what on the amps. If I can discern which wires are what (ie: remote, power, ground, etc) on the amps then I should have no problem re-installing them in my truck.
Thanks a lot guys,
Josh
