Default Removal and Re-Use of Shaker 500 Door Subwoofers and Amplifiers

I'm wondering if anyone has removed their shaker 500 door subs and the amps that power them and re-used them in another vehicle. After installing an Alpine MRP-M500 amp and SWR-1242D Type-R Sub (running 500w @ 2ohms) I have more bass than i'll ever need and could stand to lighten up my doors a bit.

I understand that there are 2 amps that power the shaker 500 door subs and they're located in the passenger side kick panel. I'd like to remove both amps and both subs and install 1 amp along with 1 sub in my truck to get some bass going on in there. I also know that i'll need to step down my remote voltage from 12v (from my trucks head unit) to 5v which is what the stock amps use in order to prevent a popping sound every time it turns on. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

If possible i'm looking for pics of the amps as well as a diagram or any information I can get on what wires may be what on the amps. If I can discern which wires are what (ie: remote, power, ground, etc) on the amps then I should have no problem re-installing them in my truck.

Thanks a lot guys,
Josh

Default Your shaker 500

I wish i could help you with your question-but if you should decide against reinstalling your shaker in your truck-would you be interested in selling it? I think I have blown the mach system in my 2002 gt-i'm assuming because it's sure rattling-and I personally love this sound system-but i'm having a hard time finding parts to fix it-i think it's the same system-i have the shaker 500 in my shelby and it sounds fantastic-so if you decide it's too much-please contact me-sorry if i'm jumping the gun-but you're the first person i've seen that has even removed it successfully! Good luck-hope it works out for you either way!

You're the 2nd person to offer to buy it from me since i've posted this.

I may decide to just sell the parts and buy a cheap sub for my truck instead but it depends on how tricky this turns out to be.

I haven't actually removed the shaker 500 subs and amps yet, I was just sharing the info I had learned about them so far.
