Older amplifier Question I have three amps in my car (don't ask me why, I bought the car that way) One MTX Blue thunder Pro 504 for my front and back speakers, one MTX Blue thunder Pro 752 for my Left subwoofer, and one MTX Blue thunder Pro 1502 for my Right subwoofer. My subwoofers are 12" Kove duel voice coil, duel 4 ohm rated for 250V rms.
I have looked everywhere for wiring diagrams for the subwoofer amps, since I would like to possibly bridge one amp (the 1502, rated at 300W @ 4 ohm bridged) and run both subs on one amp instead of two. I figure it would save my alternator some work. Is this even smart? I'm new to car audio sound systems, and my electronics is a little rusty. If I understand right I'll cut my total impedance in half if I run my subs in parallel. Since the amp is rated @ 4 ohms bridged, will I be putting too much strain on the amp?
If you guys think bridging my amp would be a smart plan, could someone help me out with the wiring? since these amps are so old (1998) the second channel isn't inverted, at least thats what I read. What do I need to get to invert the second channel? and how would I wire it?
Thanks for any help!
