Default Car Audio Wiring - Need Help!

Hello. I am trying to run 4 gauge wire to hook up a new amp in my trunk of my 2000 Mustang GT (non-convertible). Does anyone know of a documented install page online to find where it was ran through the firewall??

Also I need to run new speaker wires into the trunk and doors. Looking for documentation of this being done as well and how it was done.

Any resources / advice / help appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance!

i dont think the mach sound system had 4g wires.. not sure anyways just peal up the carpet and run it under the seats theres a large factory grommit under the drivers side dash in the upper left hand corner.. pretty much all wires would have to be ran seperatly.. Rca wires/remote wire/4g power.. speakers/ground should be 2' or less away from the amp

:edit id actually suggest running 2 amps with a spliter and all that. 2 sets of rca wires and just wire the car speakers into that.. you know dont connect them to no 5000 watt amp just like 1 500watt 4 channel.

the hole in your firewall is under and to the left of the master cylinder, near where stearing shaft runs through, I dont know a site... when I installed mine, I went ahead and took out the seats and carpet,my powerwire can not be seen anywhere. I also run new speaker wire, I just cut my wire where i knew it would be a foot or so to long, tied it to a small wire, ran it back through the factory harrness.But...I would say, if your inst. a nice system, go ahead and buy a 4 channel 200watt rms, (kickerkx.50x4 is perfect)220watt rms and really power those mids and highs if your looking for pure sound. then running the wires gets easy. spend the extra 150.00, its WELL worth it.I hear so many systems where ppl do not power there componets, and get a bassey sub, to me, more bass than claritey sounds bad..I guess it depends on what you want, a good set of componet 6x8(mustang rear size) and amp sounds great alone, the setup may run 275.00 amp and componets, I really went deep into a simple question!!lol, audio/video is my thing!!! hope some of that helps, also, im sure you can google in 2000 mustang speaker wireing diagram...

4 guage for power sounds fine, just pull off the plastic on the bottom of the door that is ontop of the carpet to get access to underneith the carpet. some people just shove it in there, some take the seats and anything else out that is in the way to get the wires in deeper (closer to the middle). You can also use a clothe hanger or something to snake the wires around stuff. I ran my power through the gromet that the throttle goes through i believe, you can drive a hole and buy a rubber booty to protect the wire from rubbing/cutting on the firewall. For replacing the door wires, use the same path as the old wires. You can attache the new wires to the old and carefully pull them through holes. Do you have the mach system and are you planning on keeping it? It has the amps in the trunk powering the speakers and has a cross over in the deck.

Hey lowering kit! Yeah, I do have the mach system, but am actually putting in a better one. I am just going to leave the old wires and stuff in though - no need to remove right now. Thanks for the help man. Let me know if you can help with anything else.

Thanks,

Chris
