I purchased an Eclipse CD4000 from the website
Car Audio - Car Video - Car Amplifiers & Speakers - CartronixPlus and had it installed at a professional audio installer. The deck was at nice price and would fit in with my Eclipse Amp, speakers, and JL 10 W3v2. Had it installed, everything seemed fined. Then noticed when driving at night, not all the display lights were working(present buttons, eject, and other random buttons on the outer parts of the faceplate). I then called the customer service number at Cartronixplus and explained the situation. They told me it was probably an error with the install, cut a wire or something? I'm going to the installer to see what they say. But I think he is just trying to pass on blame.
I then said, what if it is just a faulty cd deck and he said I would have to pay for return shipping both ways. I then asked, what about to have it removed and reinstalled, could he offer some kind of rebate for the time and money I would have to waste shipping and paying for another reinstall and he said he had nothing to offer. I politely said, so I have to pay for shipping both ways, $40, then have it installed again for $45. He could only say, our website says you have to pay for shipping. I looked on the website and it says you pay for return shipping if nothing is found wrong. I am a patient person, but just wish people would take pride in doing business. It is all about the bottom line now, not customer service or reputation. I know nothing of car audio and wish I did in this situation. Could anyone offer any suggestions or should I just raise hell instead of playing nice guy. I am going to installer today and see what they say. Not sure how to remove the aftermaker deck, I drive a 98 Mustang, standard. no Mach audio. Thanks, Chris.
