Default Shaker 500, Want To Buy a 2008 HeadUnit

Hi, I'm looking to buy an '08 Shaker 500 headunit. I have an '06 vert and I want to upgrade the sound. Does anyone know where I can find one?

I have found plenty of Shaker 500 head units on ebay from people upgrading to "better" stereos.

I have a factory stereo (non-shaker 500) and am trying to find the difference between this stereo and the shaker 500 besides the multi-disc feature. Anyone give me specifics?

Does anyone know if the factory speakers will enough if I were to upgrade to the shaker 500?

I'm looking to replace my 06 Shaker 500 with an 08 version because the 08's have the chrome accents. if I find one, I'll sell mine cheap!

Does this apply to the Shaker 1000 system too? I have the non-shaker system and am also looking to upgrade my audio. I've also come across some places that mention an OEM subwoofer that you could order as an option. Does anybody have any information on this or did I misread something?

enhanced stock speakers very little, some better speakers will make it sound better. without the woofers, make it sound a little more distorted. more power , more bas. but the without woofers, all power is going to only four speakers.

Thanks GT 921. I may have to cave and just go with a double DIN DVD unit as carrying around a portable unit with a 7" screen for my 2yr old daughter is a pain.

be careful though...on the 2008 model, ford started using a can bus system to control the radio on/off with the key. there is no longer a 12 volt signal that tells the radio to turn on and off with the key. the 2005 to 2007 models have a 12v acc wire. so you may damage the 08 model head unit since it isnt designed to run on a 12v turn on. you may want to research this before you get an 08 head unit.

if you have a good audio person you'll have not problem with the install just make sure to get them to by pass the e-brake wire on the new head unit. they do that so you cant watch dvd's while driving but you can put a capasitor in and get around that problem
