Looks like Power Acoustik inflates their RMS ratings very liberally. I'd stay away from any "B" brands like that-looks worse than Profile amps. If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is. Buy a Rockford Fosgate or something quality. Rockfords include a test sheet in their amp boxes which show that individual amp's power output on test equipment to verify they are honest about their power ratings. Most amp brands don't do that because they know they are being dishonest with what they claim their amps can do.
I would be very skeptical about those Vortex ratings. Currently, I would only choose from the following manufacturers for my Power Amps: Rockford Fosgate Power Series, JL Audio, Kicker, MTX, or Alpine.
The last time I purchased an amp/subwoofer, I was very disappointed with Memphis Audio after hearing so many good things about them. In a way, I am kind of glad my amp and subwoofer did not survive my car accident because I would have sold them for next to nothing anyway.

I'll second that. The other thing about Rockford, Kicker, JL, etc. amps is they are very often underrated. The number on the box is a minimum. My test sheet for my 10001.1bd (rated at 1000w @ 1 ohm RMS) actually produces over 1400w @ 1ohm RMS and 1000w @ 2 ohms RMS according to the bench sheet, and this is typical of their amps.
