Default alpine spr-75c 6x8 under powered

my cda-9886 won't power these. they are RMS 100 x 4. as it turns out the head unit is only rms 20. jeez, had to buy Alpine MRP-F600 to drive the speakers. didn't see that on these forums before. blind sided me. speakers sound bad when turned up cause they are underpowered and i found out that can ruin the unit and the speakers.

fyi

yes, all aftermarket head units are about 18 to 22 watts rms. speakers like type Rs will definitely need an amp.

thanks,

i'm thinking with this amp and those speakers, plus a 12in kenwood and the two 8 in door subs, that this thing should scream! i've hear these type r's will be crystal clear.

anyone?
