I just bought a 2006 convertible and it has a base stereo unit. I do not want the shaker 500 head unit as I hear it has problems and one CD at a time is ok for me anyway. I bought shaker 500 door panels with the door subs. (subs read - 1.2 ohm x 2 & 60W x 2) I figured I can use an aftermarket amp to run the subs but I need to know the RMS ratings of the subs so I can buy the right amp. anyone know this information? Also, anyone know a trick to get the wire from the door to inside the car?

RMS stand for Root Mean Square, "average power". You don't need an amp to run your door subs. You're head unit puts out plenty of power for 60watt door speakers. An aftermarket amp won't do anything for you.
