So I signed on the dotted line today (many of them) and picked up a plain jane V6 Mustang,,, only 20000 miles on it. It has the single cd player, not the Shaker 500 or 1000 radio systems. The manual says to hook up an mp3 player to the Aux input, and then repeatedly push the Aux button till you get "Line In" displayed on the radio,,, However, It just goes back to the radio station thats tuned in. Any suggestions??
It has the input jack and 12volt power jack in the console,,, I ASSUME they are supposed to work.

Pull the console out and make sure everything's connected correctly.
I'll have to check that out, I would think that if something wasn't hooked up, I'd still have Line In displayed,,,, But since I don't know the previous history of the car, better to check, than get a bill from the Ford garage.
Ford's CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) warranty covers a lot of things.
I bought my used Mustang several months (by God I'm glad I did!!!) and there were a few cosmetic problems I told the dealer I wanted fixed before I drove off. They took care of what I asked and I still got a ridiculous low price!
Be firm with your dealer, they want your repeat business (especially these days). It helps for them to know that you regularly post to a Ford forum.
Well, I have an appointment at the dealer this coming friday, to recalibrate the airbags, and they will be checking out the Aux input while they have the car,,, I'll post what they find this friday.
yea i would add that to the list of things to look at for the dealer

Well, I got they installed the new radio today, under warranty, my aux input works,,, but the tech forgot to hook up the power point,,,,,,,,, That I'll handle myself.
