Mach 460 front speaker swap in 2004 Mustang but no sound?

Well, who woulda thought that a speaker installation would be complicated?? I installed a set of alpine sps-507's and now i only can get bass to come out of them, no other sound. and if i turn it up really loud, sometimes sound will come out of them, other times they will turn off completely. What did I do?? Please help me. I attempted putting the old speakers back in, and they have no sound but bass either. I'm going insane...any help you can give me is appreciated. I have an '04 GT if that helps

thats what the factory mach amp is designed to do...output bass to those speakers. the tweeter on the top of the door is designed to play the highs. only way to bypass that is to redo the entire system.

Ok, thank you very much...I was going insane trying to figure it out. Guess I'll just wait until I can gut the whole system and start from scratch. Thanks again!
