Default 1968 Mustang Stereo Install

I have a 68 Mustang (non console) that i am attempting to install a new style stereo in.(DIN Style) Does anyone have any ideas on how to mount the stereo in the car. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Most mustang part houses carry a din sized bezel or you can just cut yours so the radio fits.

^ Bingo!

Use the repro DIN style or cut the original (although if the original is nice I personally wouldn't cut it).

It's either that or build a custom console to fit the radio. With the way the glovebox is designed on these cars you can't easily mount a modern radio in there like you see people do with the 65/66 cars.

Some even make a console or even a box under the dash for the radio theres many ways.So what speakers you going to use for it?

I have a 67 which has basically the same radio bezel as the 68. I cut my bezel to fit the stereo and fabbed a bracket for support in the back of the unit. It worked out pretty well. This was before any modified bezels were available.

I used a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel to perform the surgery.

My car was an original console car so i bought i cheap bezel online and already cut it. I need help with mouting the radio on the back side, i will probally end up fabbing a bracket to fit it. How did you guys keep the radio from moving backwards.
