Default 2006 Mustang - Sirius Direct FM adapter install?

Hi there,

I'm new to the site, and I was wondering if anyone here has installed a FM Direct adapter in a 2006 mustang with the stock Shaker 500 and could offer some tips, links, or pictures.

I'm not familiar at all with working with wiring behind the dash, but I'm a veteran at building computers so I think I'm ready to give it a shot. I've been looking around Google for a bit, but I haven't discovered any detailed info or pictures, so I figured I would ask some real life enthusiasts.

According to Crutchfield, I also needed to buy two adapters for my car along with the adapter. OEM to Motorola F, and Motorola F to OEM. I'm guessing the Ford antenna is the Motorola F one?

I really appreciate any help!

well its not much to do with computers....
but you must remove the console with the 2 screws under the lid. pop the entire console off. the 2 side pieces on either side of the radio then pop off. pop them off by pulling then towards you, straight away from the dash. then there are 6 7mm screws that you must remove. after that, unplug the ac control plugs and remove the dash piece. its tight, so you have to unplug the ac control panel before you can remove it. after that, there are 4 7mm screws to remove the radio. unplug the antenna and plug in the fm direct in between the radio and antenna.

only the 2007 models need the antenna adapters that crutchfield mentions. you wont need them if yours is an 06.
