Default 1999 Mustang Mach 460 Head Unit Swap

Hey everyone I have a 99' Stang GT with the Mach 460 sound system. I recently bought an XO Vision xo1915bt head unit with 3"dvd screen, usb, etc. I would like to do the install myself and wondered if anybody else has made this same swap or could help me out? I don't have alot of experience but I do have some common sense when it comes to this stuff. I want to just use my factory speakers, remove the tape deck with new head unit and replace the lower cd player with a pocket. From what I understand, I will need a special wiring harness since the amp for the tweeters on the Mach 460 is in the stock head unit. Is this true? I don't like spending money on something I don't need so I want to make sure I get the correct stuff. Any knowledge is helpful??

Yes you will need the wiring harness they are a B to find though unless you have an aftermarker audio store near you....or you can run your own aux wire from your stock amps.....As far as putting the screen in at least in my GT i had to do the install kit upside down so that the pocket was on top because there was no place to mount it and it was the only way to get a solid mount...also it helped to make the screen not hit the knobs

I am doing a similar install. This is the connector you will need to hook up the Mach amps.

Your new head unit will need to have two pair of RCA outs.
