Default 2005 Mustang, Component speakers in place of shaker 500 system

Hello,

I have a 2005 mustang with the shaker 500 system.. To my understanding the shaker 500 contains a set of 6x8's in the front and two 8" subwoofers below that in the front doors.. I was told that I could replace those with a Component speaker setup.. the set Im looking at is the alpine spx-17pro which contain a 6-3/4" woofer and a 1-1/4" tweeter.. now would it be possible to place the woofer in the spot of where the 6x8 speaker is now(the speaker setup says it includes a6"x8" mounting plate) and then drill a hole and place the tweeter.. if that is possible and that is the case would it also be worth replacing/keeping the 8" subwoofers in the door also? Thanks for the help... OR should I just replace the 6x8 with a better speaker and also replace the subwoofer?....

Note: already have 2 alpine type x 12" subs in the rear so bass should be not a problem as a whole.

well I ended up buying the alpine 6 1/2 comp speakers.. Does anyone have a recommended spot to place the tweeter.. I know that it is best to place it with-in 12" of the speaker but im not sure where the best palce would be. off the top of my head I was looking to place it right about the control for the side view mirrors and then doing the same on the pass side of the car.. Any thoughts?

I am about to pull my 8" Shaker 500 Door subs and amp and I plan to either purchase some component speakers or make my own components since I have the ability to run active.

I am going to put a 6.5, 7, or 8 inch speaker in the factory 8" location and I plan on placing the tweeter where the 6x8 goes in the door. If that does not give me the imaging I want, I will probably end up doing something like this the attached photo!

In the front are 5*7 speakers and i have no 8" woofer becouse i have the standard radio.
Now i want to cut a hole in the door for the 8" woofer but how about the wiring?

-is there already a wire or do i need to make a new one?
-how deep may the woofer be?
-where is the the standard woofer ampliefer placed?

Default Front speaker covers '05

Does anyone tried to replace the "ugly" front speaker covers of the S197 by aftermarket one like Kenwood or Pioneer ? the '10 are much nicer but are not sold separately from the door panels ($1,400 both !!!)
