Default 2007 Mustang GT Has anyone fit 6x9 Speakers in the rear deck?

I have a set of 6x9 speakers that I would like to bring over from my previous car, and place in the rear deck. I've already replaced the 6x8's in the front. Has anyone done this? I'm ok with removing a little bit of metal, or mounting them from the trunk with some spacers. I figured I would check and see if anyone else has done this first and had any tips.
Thanks,
Eric

I would make a baffle for them and mount them from under the rear deck. I didn't do this in my Mustang, because I don't like rear-fill that much, but I have used that method in other vehicles. It also makes life easier if you happen to blow a 6x9.

Also, replacing the rear deck speakers in a 2007/2008 is tons harder than replacing them in a 2005/2006 stang. There are some other members on the forum who have installed 6x9s in their late model mustangs.

I installed alpine type r 6x9's in the rear of my 2005 mustang. My main goal was to keep it looking stock.. I ended up just using a dremel making the whole a little larger(had to extend it out about a little bit past where the original holes were, sanded down the edges(not as clean as the original but no sharp edges or jagged look) then drilled new holes and mounted them from the top.. I wanted to mount them from the bottom which would have been less work But I'm fitting 2 12" alpine type x's in the trunk so I wanted as much room as possible under there.. Anyway, the rear deck peices look stock, cant tell the diff, and they are a HUGE improvment over stock (note that I am running 100 watts to each speaker though)... Good luck

Well I got them mounted up. Carefully made the hole a little bigger, and then put them in from the bottom (will make them much easier to swap in the future if there is a ever a need and I only lose about 1/4" of downward space). Running 100 watts to each and so far they sound excellent same as the last vehicle they were in. It was a pain to strip out all the interior though just to get to speakers. I'm glad I'm soundproofing everything at the same time. If I was just swapping speakers I think the amount of work was a little ridiculous.
