6.5" speakers in the door 6x8 location - 2006 GT

I was just wondering if anyone has replaced their factory 6x8s with some 6.5" speakers in the 2005 and later Stangs? I am considering going with some alpine Type R 6.5s up front because my Infinity Kappas are too harsh. Plus, I want the tweeter in a different place because the stock location sucks with regards to tweeter placement.

ok well i have a '94 mustang gt that had 6x8 in the front and rear and just replaced them with almani 6.5" and im sure it can be done in the new ones as well i just had to add a couple of holes to be able to screw them in.
