Any Suggestions? Need subwoofer help for 1988 Mustang GT

I have a 88 mustang gt and I have no idea of what type of subwoofer to put in it. I currently have 4x 250w alpine speakers and a 250w pioneer receiver. I don't have a lot of cash and I have no idea when it comes to speakers. Does anyone have any suggestions for what type of subs I should put in it?????

I was kinda thinking to maybe put something pre-amped but then again I don't know what would work the best. . . . . .

"say no to pre-amps" lol
w/ the alpine system i say go w/ the X-type, prolly 10". I personally got a rear seat delete and am putting two 12" x-types in the rear.

Well define not alot of cash. Theres uber cheap, inexpensive and still good quality. If you have enough to spend on 2 10" type x's then go for it. But if you have less cash than that, i would have to say to go with some mtx 12" subs. they're a little cheaper but still sound good. and i agree stay away from pre-amped setups. and amps are determined by what you want for bump. good luck in your hunt for superior sound.

Ok, that's easy enough. Lets go with $300. That should give you a decent amount of bass.

Try looking at this bass package:
Rockford Fosgate Bass Package Punch P300-1 mono subwoofer amplifier Two Punch Stage 1 12" 4-ohm subwoofers at Crutchfield.com This costs a lil over $300

Or if you want a custom set up.
Try
2: MTX Thunder XT10-04
and a profile ap600 amp.

or for one sub
A Kicker Comp VR 07CVR124
and a Kenwood KAC-6202 amp.

This gives you a variety of brands to play with.
for all of these, i would get a crossover too, even just a cheap set up.

Hope this helps.
