Default oem amp bypass help

okay, got a 95 gt. i am trying to install an aftermarket headunit. the car has an amp. what are you guys doing to get around this? i really want some sort of harness, i dont want to cut my factory harnesses out. if there is a harness to bypass/eliminate the amp, i sure cant find it. does one exist?

is this what i need? that black plug sure looks like it would fit the plug that comes out of my factory amp.

I know in my Cobra, which has the Mach460 amps, I had to install this unit made by Bosche that lowers the preouts from ur head unit so the factory amps don't get blown out by the high inputs. If you're looking to bypass the amps all together you might end up rewiring the whole thing. If you go that route...... good luck!

In most of the amp bypasses that i have done you usually have to rewire the entire system. its not that hard, you just have to have some time on your hands

On my 95 Cobra SVT the first thing I did was the stereo...I tried running with the mach 460 amps on the tweets and mids...no go...the head unit was blowing the factory amps clear out...this last weekend removed the mach amps and installed a 4 channel...works great that way
