+1

I am running 1,000 watts RMS on the stock HO alternator in my 2006 GT and I have absolutely NO dimming whatsoever nor do I have any problems with voltage drop.

In my other vehicle, I am running 1,200 watts RMS on a stock 85 amp alternator with no capacitor. That system does have a Kinetik battery though.

I have a 1 farad Rockford Fosgate capacitor sitting in a box because I can't bring myself to use it. The only time I used a capacitor when it helped for an issue was for an issue that was totally outside of the marketing scheme. In 1999 I installed a capacitor in my 1996 Thunderbird to get rid of an alternator whine that had me and several installers stumped. A buddy of mine in California told me to try a capacitor because in some cases it works... He was right because it cleared that alternator noise right out of my mids and highs!

ya im waiting for more money

i had the capacitor from my old car. first car i had i put them in and it was dimming really bad. Then after i got a second car it was dimming too so i had to buy a capacitor. After a year i bought the mustang and then i just put it there instead of just being the locker room.

As long as you realize a capacitor is just a band aid on a much bigger problem, then you are OK.

At least the new capacitors are safer than the ones from the mid to late 90s. Those bad boys would EXPLODE if directly shorted.

I am thinking of throwing that 1 farad RF cap in one of my vehicles just for the hell of it.

looks good. are two subs worth it? I used to have two in a volkswagon beetle and it was awesome. but I think one, turned up a little louder would do. i'm worried about my trunk vibrating. anyway. what happens when you go shopping you gotta take that huge ass sub out you should just get the one leaves some space

victor, meldrew.

you can get a single sub plenty loud. depends on the install. sound like what you need is either a nice 8" sub that is geared more torwards sq.
