Default Stereo Installation Problem, 1993 Mustang

Ok im back with another question lol. i have a 1993 Fox Body 2.3L if ya cant tell lmao. and i want to take out the factory head unit and put my pioneer head unit in place. i got the factory out fine but then as i was trying to locate the speaker wires it turns out that there all connected to the amp which is under the passenger seat. and there is a big blue wire that connects in the factory head unit that i have no idea what it does or how to get it into my new had unit. i need like a step-by-step instruction on how to rig it so i can get my new head unit installed without having to take it somewhere and pay a **** load to get it done lol

If you want a clean installation get the adapter kit to fit your radio to the ford harness, simplest way I know, PLUG AND PLAY

Those adapters kits can be purchased at your local AUTOZONE. They have them for almost every vehicle and most are in stock. make it so much eaiser. All the wires are color codeded.

Is the blue wire just a single wire? Could it be the power wire?

Default wire harness

I agree with everyone above. That wire harness will be your best friend in this installation. Just wire your stereo to the wire harness using the guide for the color coding of the wires. The single blue wire is an controlled power source from the head unit, meaning it will not have power unless the radio is on. Usually used for amps.

the problem with those wiring kits is that they don`t accomodate the premium factory sound ..which is what our beloved four banger foxes have my 90 the amp is behind the stereo and I removed it and figured out which wires coming out of the amp were for the speakers and made a jumper to tie them together and hooked my stereo up like normal after that

Are you talking about the blue/white wire off the cd player? If so that is to power up an amp, or in some cases a power antenna. If you are talking about a blue/white on the plug that goes to the car side, that would be to power up your factory amp.

Is the plug in the car that your talking about a small square black 8 pin connector, if so, there is an aftermarket plug for it, a metra p/n 5510 I belive.
