Smile 2003 Mustang GT With Mach 1000

Hey, I recently bought a 2003 Mustang GT. It came with the Mach 1000 system (the version that does NOT play .mp3s) and I'm having problems with the CD player jamming. I work at a Circuit City and up until we decided to go out of business I was going to purchase the Pioneer AVH4000 LCD screen to put in there but I was told by my lead installer that sometimes putting an aftermarket head unit in a premium sound system is tricky and typically the subs and speakers won't sound as good. I bought the Metra 705519 amp integration harness and I was planning on using our display model to ensure it worked before I spent the money on buying one. Now that we're out of business I don't have that option of using our display and I was curious if anyone has tried to install an aftermarket headunit into the Mach 1000 and if it works how does it sound? Are there complications with the subs? How is the sound quality? And if it's too much of a pain to install an aftermarket, is it possible to buy an LCD screen from Ford that will work? Or how about the Mach 1000 headunit that supports .mp3s. Thanks in advance, any information will be helpful.

Ya but do you have the Mach 1000 system? And which harness did you use? Did you use the one from Metra?
