Default Question about 2000 Mustang stereo replacement

I have a 2000 Mustang with the separate cd player and radio. I want to remove both of those and fit a double din 7" dvd player in its place. I bought a dash for a 2001 Mustang that has the single opening to fit the new stereo. What all do I need to complete this change? Will I need to change a lot on the inside to make this work? Will this even work at all? Help me please!

its been so long since i did stereo work. i dont believe you will have any problems. you will wanna buy the correct, sometimes expensive wiring harnesses from a stereo shop. other that that, i dont see why it would be too difficult. they were pretty much the same car. the only thing i could think of is if there is some sort of brace in there that might be different. but even if so, if the 01 didnt need it, yours shouldnt either. we had to trim stuff behind radios every once and awhile to get them to fit if that was what the customer wanted.

Where can I find a new brace if I should need it? Would a local Ford dealership be able to provide me with it?

i dont think you would need a brace. just pull it apart and trial fit everything. it may just slide together.
