I traded in my '04 Mustang V6 last weekend for a 2006 GT Premium. I got a good deal on the trade in and on the price of the GT. I'm absolutely thrilled with the big jump in performance. The only problem I have is the worry of something happening to my GT because this car draws a ton of attention. Right now all that it has is the factory passive system in it. I want to have an active security system installed.
The salesman I bought my car from recommended I go to Suncoast Sound here in Monroe for what I want. I've received another recommndation for that same place from another very reliable source. I went there and talked to one of their reps about what I wanted and he showed me the systems they install. He gave me a fair quote for the system I wanted with installation included. My questions are related to the systems they sell there. They only sell Ungo, a brand I've never heard of before. I've searched the internet and it appears as though they are made by Clarion, but I haven't had any luck finding any reviews on them. Does anyone here have an opinion on Ungo vehicle security systems? Good? Bad? Details? What about other options in the Monroe, LA area? I will not go to Best Buy, so cross that one out. Thanks in advance!
3 any brand. anything that sets off a horn. like the one u got. break a window it goes off.
2 Viper security, the one on my thunderbird is old, but works. you so much as touch the door handle, she will put out a beep so loud ull poop yourself
1 lowjack. if your really worried get a lowjack, but they cost more than a dime.
lowjack has 2 sets.
A, you come out find your car IS gone you call the police, they start tracking it. when any police car gets within 100 yards of the car, a program in their computer goes off and will take them to the stolen car.
even helicopters flying over cargo ships catch cars being sent out.
B if the car is moved with out your athority, it contacts u immideately, then cops start tracking it sooner
avarage recovery time, less than 24 hours.
but like i said, number 1 is pricey!
i would reccomend number 2

The transformation has begun!
Cool, I have the Viper Security system as described in a vehicle and it does exactly what 05 said. It is good, an excellent deterrent.
For perpetrators that laugh or balk at a little noise and lights flashing, I don't know many that can go ahead, get beyond that with fuel pump that shuts of either immediately, or within 10 second, I forget. That's another Viper feature, just not sure which time frame, have had 4 or 5 alarms in this decade.
Put the viper-supplied stickers on the car, and add as bright of a warning light as you can, not just the dash security feature. I went with with 2 types of lights, available at your security installers, and the loudest siren.
I think the jury is out on whether to get a motion sensor/eye. When I pass by a vehicle and it goes 'bleep' or 'squak', I feel like kicking in the freakin' door, but I can't - I'm a car guy.
My stocker already draws a crowd, possible mischief, for whatever reason, has always been surrounded, even by grannies, and I won't 'bleep' nobody.
Get a mini-camera too if you want the ultimate, IMO - I know I will but don't call it a Police camera.
i have a auto page so when someone touches my car it beeps at them and then sends a page to my remote which then starts singing and vibrating. saved my car from a couple of kids messing with it and even went off when a javelina touched it. i love my autopage cause it will send a page to the remote from half a mile away. also got the lo jack installed and it was 600 bucks but i got a hookup at the dealership so who knows how much it would of been. if you want to keep your car then install a expensive alarm. ever heard of commando? its a alram company and if you touch the vehicle it goes off, only problem is if the wind blows on it it sets off the alarm. just remember that if a professional really wants your car no alarm or lo jack is gonna keep your car outta his hands

Are you worried about what someone will steal from your car or are you worried about your car being stolen? if you are worried about both then I suggest you get an alarm and low jack.
