Default Trying to install new radio on 1983 Mustang

I bought a jvc deck and 3 polk speaker two 3 1/2" and one 5x7. the only problem is i think i have to get new wiring for the speakers a new power supply and a harness for the deck. but im not entirely sure what to get. Basically all the wires from the old unit were inside the old radio which i took out, so i cut them. The grounding, power and speaker wires were all inside of the old radio, does this mean i have to splice them together? or can i just run a new power supply from the battery and ground it elsewhere? So far on my check list i think i need. A harness, speaker wire, clips for the speaker wire to attach to the speakers, connectors for the ground, speakers and power. Do i need anything else?
Thanks,
Kevin

if yor just replaceing speakers, the wire there is fine
find the stereo wireing diagram for the new and old head, then cross referance wires, splice together.
