So I have the Mach 460 6 CD disc changer in my mustang. Over the last year I've noticed that it has been on the fritz as it started having trouble reading burnt CDs and what not. Well finally it stopped working. I can still put in CDs and take them out but when I try to play a CD it doesn't read anything. I can hear it spinning but it isn't doing anything. It isn't even giving the CD Read Error or whatever. Anyone have any idea? It does this with both burnt and store bought CDs..

If I had to guess I would say that the eye that emitts the laser that reads the cd s went bad.

So am I going to need to take it to a radio shop or the Ford dealer?

try to buy a stereo cleaner at walmart its a cd that you need to put inside of the receiver to clean the lens then make sure your discs are really clean.

if this doesn't work your stereo is dead but don't take it to a dealershilp its cheaper to buy a used one on ebay.

Yeah, I already bought a CD cleaner.. I put it in but it doesn't read the cleaner.. So I'm looking for the whole unit on ebay? or what?

Sorry, I'm dumb when it comes to audio stuff.
