Hi at the moment I've got my amp cutting out 200hz to my tweeters and door speakers, to get rid of the bass (stop the farting) but my door speakers are also wired with my door speakers, so i'm not getting enough bass out of the door speakers, its clean but too high. rather than cut out the bass from my amp crossover to door and tweeters, I want to send more bass to my door speakers, and add bass blockers to just the tweeters to cut out any bass going to my tweeters for a fuller sound. This way my door speakers will be a bit more bassy, and my tweeters will be doing what they should be doing (or something close at least).
Forgive me if my audio terminology is wack!
My question is - what bass blockers should I get for the tweeters. I don't mind my tweeters giving out a little more sound than they *should be* considering that the tweeters sound ok when my amp has the crossover set to 200mhz (they are clear at loud volumes and don't fart).
I've found these that I am thinking about but not sure what is best:
Bass Blockers Crossovers for 3.5" 4" or 4x6" Speakers - (eBay.ca item 290264594328 end time 29-Mar-09 17:17:06 EDT) PERIPHERAL PBASS5 CAR AUDIO 3 1/2 BASS BLOCKER 0-2.8kHZ - (eBay.ca item 130287457181 end time 14-Mar-09 13:38:19 EDT)
For the record, I've got a nice 12" sony sub that i'm connecting up soon so i'm trying to get the most out of my tweeters, door speakers, and sub all playing together without breaking the bank (and using as much of what I have currently) my amp is a 400w alpine I think. I'm not looking for an incredible sound just something that sounds fairly nice. At the moment I don't have the sub connected and everything is too high as everything is crowwing over at 200 to stop farting.
Also I'm not willing to wire the tweeters up to the amp separately (split them from the door speaker wiring - limited channels / too much messing about for me) thus the bass blockers as long as I will get a reasonable sound out of them.
Has anyone added bass blockers to mach tweeters? i'm hoping to get the right bass blockers as once they are installed I won't be able to play with the frequency going to them so much so be great to get it right.
Thanks,
Mark.
