Default Is this a good speaker setup?

Hey everyone,

I've got a 2005 Mustang Convertible with the Shaker 500 System. I've upgraded my head unit to a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT and am now looking to upgrade my stereo. I was thinking of putting the Pioneer TS-A1302C Set up front and building a custom box to put two Pioneer TS-W308D2 Woofers in my trunk.

So, here are my questions: Do the speakers I have already chosen work well with my current setup? Do they work well with each other? What AMP do you recommend for the Woofers? Would the Pioneer GM-D7400M make sense? What is better: 2 or 4 ohms in the woofers? How easy would it be to wire the first set of speakers and tweeters in my doors?

All help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Gotadime

If Pioneer is your brand than you've got a nice choice in amp and subs. The 2ohm subs should be fine considering the amp you want is capable of 2ohms as well. You should get some decent thump out of it.

Nothing against Crutchfield but you can buy those subs and amp cheaper at www.onlinecarstereo.com. I looked at those subs on that site and they're $69.00 each compaired to $139.00 on the other site. I'd go with online car stereo that way you can get two subs for same price. Take the money you save and get a good amp wiring kit.

Good luck with the install

Thanks for the information man. Would 4 ohms be better than 2 ohms, because I could definitely hook that up (really easy)? Also, I'll be buying everything off of Amazon.com - They're completely reliable and it's half the price. I just use Crutchfield links in my posts.

I hate to double post, but I've got a bit of an update...

I might go with the Pioneer GM-D8400M Amp if it's entirely necessary for maximum sound production. It's one step up from the last amp I listed and I believe that it's at the top of the Pioneer Line. Let me know what you all think.

The 2ohm set up I believe would be better as there is less resistance and more wattage able to be pushed.

Yep, that's what I figured. I'll definitely go with that.
