Default Dimmer wire Shaker 1000

Hey

Can someone please tell me which wire is the dimmer wire in the shaker 1000 unit?

I am about to install an aftermarket radio and i cannot find the dimmer wire from my car.

Does someone know what the J3 wire harness does? Because with the new harness i cannot connect the J3 wiring to my new HU.

Thanks

Do you mean the illumination wires (#3 and #4)? They are not hooked up in my system...?

I haven't looked but I found this searching around:

you will want to tap into the tanish/orange and white wire behind the headlamp switch. This has 12V when the running lights are on. I had to tap into this wire to get my Pioneer NAV to switch between daytime and nighttime displays.

I'll bet you can get this same feed from one of the wires on the climate control console lights since they dim too. I have to do the same thing with mine because I just installed the Alpine H/U and the back light is just too bright at night.

Well my shaker is dimming, so obviously there is a wire going from the dimmer control into the HU.

When i try to follow the wire from the dimmer switch to the head unit it changes colors somewhere. There are 5 different wires behind the dimmer switch with different colors. None of the wires going into the HU has the same color as any of the wires coming from the switch. I find that kind of odd..

I am actually starting to wonder if my Shaker is factory installer or not. I bought the car used, so i have no clue. But i thought it was.
