Default 2006 Mustang-Installed Amp and Speakers

Finally got around to installing my Alpine MRP-F250 amp to go along with my Alpine H/U. I also installed 2 Blaupunkt GTc652 speakers at the bottom of the door, like the shaker speakers. Although I couldn't put them exactly were I wanted them due to a door brace being in the way. I found a perfect place for the positive lead of the amp. There is a rubber grommet on the firewall straight below the right edge (looking from the front) of the battery holder. I monted the amp upside down (that was fun) in the trunk between the two deck speakers.
I wasn't looking to install a killer sound system. Just something better than stock. Sounds 1000 times better. I started to take pictures of the install but just don't have the patience. So I will take a few of the finished product as soon as humanly possible.
Every muscle in my body now aches due to the various contorsionist angles I had to do to get everything installed. By the way, I broke that stupid plastic seat release.

wow, doing something that cool, and no pics? oh the shame it sounds like a awesome setup. ive been wondering about speakers in the doors, our 06 has them, my 05 doesnt. is that something that can be added, or is it part of the door panel?

+1 on that! After having installed my system a few weeks ago I feel your pain...REALLY!. My install took several hours as I had taken a lot apart....

Front right tire
wheel well liner
battery and tray
kick panel
door sill plate
pulled carpet back
back seats
trunk liner, trim, and latch

I know contorting yourself into the trunk was no walk in the park to get that amp mounted. I worked myself in the trunk to tap the rear speakers.

Get some pics up when you get a chance.

Ok, took a few pictures...
Nice thing about it, I didn't have to remove any carpeting, the wires slid easily underneath the plastic moulding.
The last picture is where the power wire is routed through a grommet in the firewall. I even has a nice flap over it to shield it from water.

that looks like some pretty serious wiring to install that amp. the speakers look pretty serious too. did you have speakers in your doors before? i think i`m the only person on afm that has a basic v6 mustang. my g/f`s 6 disk shaker blows away my stereo. i need to do something about that

Well I got the stock front and back speakers. But a Kenwood H/U and some subs with a 1600W amp spruced that right up. I agree that your amp seems to have maybe 5 too many wires. I had to take a double look at that. Does each of your speakers have a dual stage switch or something? J/K. Looks good, I like the ones in the front doors.

The stock unit comes with 2 speakers on the top of the doors, I added the woofers at the bottom. I had replaced the top door speakers and the deck speakers earlier.

The amp is capable of 50 w per channel at 2 ohms. So I just wired the two 4 ohm door speakers in parallel. The bottom speakers are component speakers that I just left off the tweeters since the top speakers already have one.

So, the speaker in the bottom of the door.....is that a new sub or did you do away with the sub altogether in favor of another regular speaker?

Looks awesome and I can appreciate how much work went into it!!

There was never a sub. The stock radio only comes with the top two door speakers and the rear deck speakers.
I added the two on the bottom door panels. They are woofers but not subs.
