On my 2006 V6 Mustang everything is still stock(Shaker 500). I want to put a new head unit in the car so I can use mp3/iPod AUX connectivity.
I will as well be changing the speakers since I have heard that the quality of the stock speakers with an aftermarket radio is very bad.
I understand and have changed head units/speakers before, so I can comprehend all that.
But I also want to put a sub woofer in the car as well. Never really understood channels/ohms/rms/watts, all that stuff. I don't need the car to rattle apart, but the hit from the door "sub woofers" seems irrelevant to me. So I am exploring a few options and would like some help from you guys on them.
I have heard that kicker makes some nice shallow mount 8" subwoofers that would fit in the doors and that sound nice. If I was to put two of
these in the doors if they would sound any better without an amp? If not, how would I need to wire the amp up and where would I place it? Can anyone suggest an amp?
Second option is to put a single 12" subwoofer in the trunk. The questions I have about this would be, what should I do with the door subwoofers, take them out, disconnect? Where is the more discreet place to mount an amp in the trunk and how would I run the wire out of the trunk?
Thanks!
