Ok well i am about to purchase a new head unit and i have a few questions. First of all i have the shaker 1000 and i was wondering, is the amp in the box with the subs in the back? or is the amp built into the stock head unit?
Also how do i know if this will fit (see attached picture)? and what do i need to make it fit?
Also how do you remove the stock head unit?
Finally will this head unit work with my shaker 1000...heres the description from the site.

The amps are behind the sub box... Remove the 4 bolts holding it in and pull it out, then there is a metal plate with 4-250w amps mounted to it. 2 on front, 2 on back. The first time removing it can be a bear, but once you figure it out, it's easy.
I removed them and put in 1-1000w. I didn't have any adapters for hooking my amp to the subs, so I cut the lines and put in quick connectors, and kept the other amps and end-plug, just in case I ever sold the car and wanted to put all the original parts back in first.
As for the radio, it should fit fine with an adapter. I would probably recommend flipping the adapter, so the open space is above, that way your unit is set lower and when your screen is open it isn't blocking your air vents. I can't tell what brand your unit is from the pic.
I went with a double din DVD player. no flip screen. It fills the space nicely, and the motorized screens worry me about failure.
