Default stereo install problems

i bought i 91 lx a few weeks ago and the entire stereo system was gutted out. it only had one 6x8 in the back, which was blown.lol.
so i bought a deck and speakers and the hole setup. installed the subs, deck speakers ect. it worked for a bit, then i bought new 6x8s. so i pulled the deck to hook up the wiring. hook it back up, deck wont power up. ok, deck shorted out. got another. now i dont have power to the positve and negative wires. (used a test light) also...for some reason my interior lights wont work either...fuses are all good. any diagnosis??

sounds like you may have blown a fusible link (if there is one in that circuit) if it's not the fuse... i'll look into my diagrams and get back to you

It sounds like where ever you are getting the power from, the fuse can't handle the current requirements of your new head unit and speakers. Once you figure out what blew, You should run a seperate power with fuse cable to your battery.
