ok i tried what the owners manual said. didn't work. i saw on another thread that the input cable needs three segments on it a stereo input cable does this mean 3 black strips on the actual plug mine only has two black strips? maybe i have the wrong cable. but this cable did work on my 2008 dodge ram radio with the input jack built into the actual headunit.

sounds like someone removed then reinstalled the radio and forgot to plug in that plug....

or

the factory 07 radio was lost if it was replaced with an aftermarket radio and a radio from an 05 or 06 was put in instead...the 05 and 06 radios did not have a factory aux input in the center console.

called dealer at first the woman that is supposedly a service manager said that she looked through the diagrams and couldn't find wher the buttons are backlit. so i said that is crazy and every radio in every car since they did away with pushbutton radios has had back lit buttons then i got the real service manager and he said that it needs a reflash. sometimes you need to reflash a as built programming flash to make it work right. so the woman who anserwes needs to quit trying to diagnose problems because she is a idiot
