Default Problems w/ Aftermarket system on 08 GT

Ok heres my problem that i keep running into. My sound system keeps draing my battery after about 2-4 days of not driving it. This is my thrid vehicle of mine that I have installed a system in. I would like to think by now I know what im doing. Ive changed the battery to a red top and after 3 months of having the system not hooked the car starts fine with no problems. I rewired the system last week to check for shorts and found nothing. I have the remote hooked up to the accessory. Im thinking this is my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Do you mean the amp remote is hooked up to the accessory?

the amp turn on will not cause a drain when hooked up to the accessory. when the key is off there is no power running through the acc wire. its impossible to create a draw on a wire with no voltage.

check your ground on the amp...make sure its tight with no paint between the metal and the wire. if you have a multimeter, do a current draw test on the power lead.

sounds to me theres a problem with the amp itself. make sure that the power to the amp turns off completely after the key is off. if for some reason its on, then change the accessory the remote wire is hooked up to.

I know the ground is good but ill check it again. If I was gonna switch the remote from the amp off the accessory, which wire would I switch it to?

what wire did you tap into for the turn on? you could go to the ignition cylinder...i dont have the wiring diagrams infront of me....im on vacation now and theyre all at work...but check out Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers and you will most likely find a diagram there for your car. mines an 07 gt so i have an accessory wire behind the radio...the 08 and up stangs do not..theyre can bus data wires.

Could anyone tell me what wire they used to hook their remote from the amp to on an 08 Mustang. My factory radio was the shaker 1000 if that helps in anyway.

I pulled out my test light and tapped a fuse that was 12V switched. You can buy them on ebay. Don't get the one clips to the actual fuse as these expand the internal clamp and make for a loose contact down the road. Get the one that acutally replaces the fuse in the slot but has a seperate slot that still uses the original.

check this link. It's one made my wirthco:

Wirthco Mini Fuse Block Add-On Circuit Tap #30103 - eBay (item 260194830244 end time May-09-09 16:08:11 PDT)
