I like Alpine, Eclipse, Clarion, and Pioneer. Unfortunately, Clarion seems to have dropped out of the high end car audio arena, but their budget units aren't that bad.
The only down side about a Pioneer is you have to be extremely careful with them so you don't blow the Pico fuse. All you need to do is unplug the RCA connections while the head unit is powered up and that Pico fuse will pop!
The next tier would be Kenwood, Blaupunkt, Sony, Panasonic, and JVC. They all make decent units but I prefer not to use them.
The don't buy list would consist of Legacy, Pyle, Phase Linear, Jensen, Dual, etc. They are JUNK!
