trying to install pioneer unit

Default trying to install pioneer unit
just recently bought a AVh-4100 DVD touch screen pioneer.
I have a 4.6 with the shaker 500 system. what all do i need to install? all i have is the unit itself?! anyone that could put links to what harnesses i need to buy and what dash kit id be happy as hell. The local audio store wanted a fortune.

Try checking out Crutchfield.com

I just bought Alpines new iPod receiver and I think it comes with everything. I bought a wiring harness for it for $64.99, but that was discounted from $120-something since I bought a head unit.

Yeah ditto on what they said. I am getting a new head unit soon too. Crutchfield has a vehicle specific installation sheet yo can buy for $10. I think you will also need a Ford specific harness also.

I ordered the 4100 from Crutchfield for my 06 v6, with shaker 500. This is the part you need to install it according to Crutchfield --


PAC Ford Radio Replacement Interface Allows aftermarket radio installation in select 2005-up Ford-built vehicles (model C2R-FRD1) at Crutchfield.com



Note: I sent it back because I didn't like it, I never installed it.
