switching radio's

Will a 2008 stock radio from a mustang GT fit and plug-in to a 2005 mustang GT? Also, I guess all radio's have a security code so is it written somewhere on the radio or what?

08 shaker to 05 shaker should work with an antenna adapter and the dealer would have to program the display dimming (when light are turned on). 08 shaker to non shaker will not work.

The radio says MP3 on the front but it looks like the same radio I have in my 05 Gt. The seller says it came out of a 08 Mustang Gt. So you are saying that because it's not a Shaker 500 or 1000 although it will fit in my car it can't be programmed to work?
