Hi everyone,
When I bought my '05 Stang, I bought it with the basic single CD stereo. I'm looking to upgrade to an HD radio, CD player, with mp3/iPod capabilities for around $400. I hate going into places ignorant (especially being female), so I'd like some ideas/recommendations.

What do you all suggest?

Crutchfield.com is a great place to go and look for exactly what you want.
Pioneer has a great doubledin radio that kind of matches the interior of the mustang, but it does come with iPod connectivity, and bluetooth built-in. I say go for the premier version (2 year warranty)!
