Default 2003 convertible with Buzzing Radio???

Hi all -- Newbie here. I'm considering the purchase of a nice 2003 6cyl convertible but the radio buzzes "in tune" with the motor. As I accelerate is get louder, as I decel it gets more quiet. If I turn the radio off, it goes away after 3 -5 seconds. How common an issue is this and how hard ($$$) is it to fix? I had a mechanic check it out, but he only told me that it was 'fairly common' on these mustangs and that a radio place or the dealership would have to look at it. Any ideas? Please feel free to PM or email me. Thanks. looking to make an offer today or tomorrow based upon what I learn.

I had that issue with my '65 mustang. I fixed it by changing the ground to the frame of the car. It may be more difficult with a new model OEM radio however. You'd have to cut the ground wire and run it to the frame. You may want to check with ford to see if that will screw up any computer settings.
