Angry Mach 460 system has no bass ! Need help!

I have a 1999 ford mustang with stock Mach 460 surround system. My back bass went out! The speakers on the back work but don't kick like it used to..

Instead of posting a new thread I thought id reply to yours.

Im having the same sort of problem with mine. I have a stock mach 460 in my 96 and the cd player stopped working the other day after I inserted a cd. I had no problems with it up until that point and then it just seemed like it stopped getting power. At the same time I lost all bass in my speakers. They still work but I have to turn my radio up all the way when im on the highway just to hear it and even then there is no bass. I checked the fuses under the dash and they were good as well as the fuses under the hood and they were good. I put my hand on the two rear amps while the stereo was on and they were ice cold. Does the cd player power these amps? Is there an inline fuse somewhere? I did pull out the head unit and cd player and found that the thick black wire (ground?)on the back left side (aft looking forward) of the cd player was disconnected. I reconnected it and had no luck see many posts in here with problems with the 460 but havent really been able to figure out if the cd player is tied into those amps or not. ANy suggestions? Its just weird that I had no problems at all with this thing and then I put a cd in and now its toast.

I just came in from inspecting my stereo a little more. I actually have bass, mids and treble. Its just extremely low. Even though it is just low, the sound quality really sucks, not like it was when everything was working correctly. The cd player does not work at all still. I had my stereo on and went back to the rear right amp in the trunk. I disconnected the power from it and all I had was treble...the mids and bass went out. I plugged it back in and I had my bass and mids again. So I know I am getting power back there. I then went to the left rear amp and unplugged the rear wire harness and nothing happened. WHat does this mean? What does this amp power? ANyone? Thanks

So I checked with a local junkyard and they are quoting me $100 for a mach 460 headunit. That seems a little steep for a 13 year old stock car radio. Seriously...I had one guy reply to me for my wanted ad on craigslist and he said $50 was not enough for his. I was expecting to pay between $35 and $50. To me thats reasonable. AM I missing something here? Thanks

Not sure if anyone is interested but I fixed the problem. I put in a new cd player and everything works as advertised. Glad I didnt spend the money one the head unit.
